Thesis (M.A.)--Regent University, 2015.
This thesis project was conceptualized in order to explore the possibilities and value of collaboration through a theatre workshop process, designed to incorporate Charles Mee's premise of a "(re)making project" by specifically utilizing his play Hotel Cassiopeia to create Postcards From Hotel Cassiopeia---both inspired by American assemblage artist, Joseph Cornell (1903-1972). Dramaturgical and directing techniques combined with extensive research and text analysis practices provided the means for examination of the process and the resulting impact of intentional collaborative implementation. The theatre artists engaged for this workshop approach mirrored the juxtaposition evident in Joseph Cornell's assemblages, and consequently our artistic relationships gave ways to co-creating new meaning, which would also translate symbolically into the script (re)making aspect. Thus, each element of this thesis project came to support the premise that true collaborative efforts can effectively enhance the theatre workshop process and may ultimately lead to more meaningful theatre experiences.
