This study focused on exploring Illinois community college faculty development coordinators' perceptions about how they are implementing faculty technology professional development programs and providing technical support for part-time faculty in the Illinois community college systems. Also examined were part-time faculty perceptions of the degree to which they are supported and trained to use technology in instruction. In addition, the extent of part-time faculty's integration of technology in instruction with professional development was explored. This research was two-fold in design. First, the community colleges faculty technology professional development coordinators were surveyed for their views on part-time faculty professional development. Second, a survey was sent to the part-time faculty of the community colleges whose coordinators responded to the first survey. Both surveys were quite similar in that they included demographic items, and items for gathering institutional data, faculty development programs data as well as information on the types of technology professional development programs and support offered to part-time faculty and program evaluation methods.

520 $a Descriptive statistical procedures were used to analyze the data. Chi-square test was used to examine any observed differences within the community college regions and the part-time faculty gender responses. A total of 15 (38.5%) out of 39 faculty development coordinators responded to the survey. A total of 361 part-time faculty responded to the survey. Of the total respondents, 66.8% were female and 33.2% were male.
520 $a It was evident from the coordinators' and faculty's responses that there are a number of similarities across community colleges when it comes to providing technology professional development programs and technology support to their part-time faculty. Results from the part-time faculty survey have shown that a number of part-time faculty in Illinois community colleges have participated in the technology professional development. Part-time faculty responded positively and participated in various technology-training classes that are offered by the community colleges. The part-time faculty expressed desire in needs for additional training in lecture capture, simulation software, podcasting, use of smart board on classrooms and use of Cloud technologies. Nearly all part-time faculty indicated using various technologies in the classrooms. In general, part-time faculty are satisfied with the overall technology professional development programs and the technology support they receive.
