Thesis (M.S.)--Eastern Oregon University, 2015.
Task-based learning is becoming a very popular teaching method in China. This study was conducted around the following research question- How does the implementation of task-based learning and the interpretations from the teachers' perspective affect motivation and participation in English as second language classrooms in China? A likert scale survey was completed by eleven English as second language teachers. Overall, my research supported that task-based learning does motivate and increase participation in second language classes in China. A teacher cannot assign work from the textbook and expect the students to remain motivated.
