IT projects succeed and fail. With the advent of Web 2.0 communications, various new trends in electronic communication have emerged. Remote workers and distributed teams have become commonplace in the workplace. In order for these workers to communicate with each other and execute a project successfully, these teams must become a cohesive unit. Newer trends in electronic communications have made this task much more attainable. The question then becomes what the impact these newer methods of communications have had on the development of team cohesion and the dealings with management and leadership. Using a quantitative methodology, this research focuses on various trends in communications and combined with project management, team cohesion, and leadership attempts to isolate what may be an indicator to project success.
