This study explored the relationship between Turkish district governors' public service motivation (PSM) levels, fairness perceptions of their performance appraisals, and their job satisfactions. The researcher employed bivariate correlation and multiple regression analysis to find out the relationships between variables. The directions and strengths of the relationship between public service motivation and distributive, procedural, and interactional fairness perceptions were different from each other. The findings indicated that procedural fairness perceptions have a strong positive relationship with PSM levels of Turkish district governors, distributive fairness perceptions have a weak negative relationship, and interactional fairness perceptions have statistically no significant relationship with the PSM levels of Turkish district governors. Furthermore, this study indicated no significant relationship between Turkish governors' PSM levels and their job satisfactions. Another important finding of this study was that district governors in the higher ranks were more committed to public values, more sympathetic to underprivileged, and were more willing to sacrifice their self -benefits for the well-being of community. Based on these findings, policy implications and future research areas were discussed at the end of the study.
