Job satisfaction studies of criminal justice personnel have typically focused on correctional officers, wardens, and police officers. Much of the scope of these studies has been limited to linking demographic characteristics of these correctional employees in adult facilities to job satisfaction rather than employees in juvenile facilities; therefore, there is a lack of knowledge in this area. Studies on juvenile justice counselors in juvenile corrections are nonexistence. Juvenile justice counselors play a pivotal role in the rehabilitation and reintegration of juvenile criminals to society (Sun, 2008). Their roles as counselor, mentor, and facilitator are fundamental to youth offenders' ability to adjust and cope with an ever changing society (Voorhis, Braswell, & Lester, 2009). Considering juvenile justice counselors' impact on their clients and the communities in which they serve, job satisfaction is key to their success in juvenile offender rehabilitation (Voorhis et al., 2009). This study investigated years of experience, level of education, age, race, gender in relationship to juvenile justice counselors' job satisfaction. This research examined the contribution of demographic factors to counselors' job satisfaction using the Job Satisfaction Survey (Spector, 1985). The study utilized a cross-sectional, correlational research design.
