Research has found that cyberbullying, defined as the use of technology to torment, threaten, stalk, humiliate, embarrass, exclude, intimidate, or otherwise target others, may lead to students' poorer academic performance, lower self-esteem, and self-harm. Research has also shown that schools can implement effective programs to address these problems. Cyberbullying has become a problem in the local high school of the arts under study, despite the school's use of a cyberbullying prevention program. The purpose of this formative program evaluation was to assess the program's level of success. This study is grounded in theories of social development, social cognition, and general strain. The research questions examined the extent to which school administrators believed the current program was successful, and how they believed it could be improved. Qualitative data were collected through individual interviews with administrators (n = 6) and through a focus group interview with the parents (n = 5). Interview and focus group data were coded and categorized using an inductive and emergent approach, in order to identify themes for analysis. Findings suggested that the current cyberbullying prevention program lacked a proactive element. To fill this gap in practice, an art-infused cyberbullying education project was created. Implementation of this project within the school or its larger district may reduce the levels of cyberbullying.
