This study was designed to investigate the alignment of student career readiness obtained through quality programming targeting student success learning outcomes as designed by student affairs practitioners at Texas public institutions to those employers surveyed by The Hart Association for the American Association of College and Universities. The participants for the current study consisted of a convenience sample of student affairs leaders holding the title of Vice President or Director with in a Regional Consortium in Texas (n=36). The researcher used a Likert five point scale to measure from strongly disagree to strongly agree that student affairs practitioners design career readiness programs that provide learning outcomes to meet employer expectations. The research used demographic data provided by the sample as to take in consideration responses based on Urban vs. Rural Institutions as well as size small, medium or large based on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The results of the analysis found that the instrument was reliable and valid. There were some difference between location of rural and urban, but sample size limits generalization. The top three programs identified by student affairs professionals were career development, leadership development and student activities.
