The overarching goal for this project was to write a grant proposal for a supportive and educational group for older adults facing the challenges of aging and to help their emotional well-being. The objectives were to develop a space where older adults could foster and engage in mutual aid and learn and exchange positive coping mechanisms throughout the biological, psychological and social challenges that accompany the aging process. Beach Cities Health District in Redondo Beach, California agreed to host this supportive and educational group at their agency. The program's topics included: healthy aging habits, ways to cope with loss, positive and negative coping strategies, use and misuse of substances and community resources. The California Community Foundation was selected as the partial funder for this program. The completion of this grant project does not require actual submission or funding.
