Thesis (D.B.A.)--University of Phoenix, 2013.
The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to measure the strengths of the correlative relationships between the attributes of Generation Y and what Generation Y may be looking for in an organizational setting, in terms of the attributes of long-term employment, the attributes of short-term employment, and job satisfaction. Two instruments were administered to collect these data, named the Generation Y Survey (GYS) and the Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS). These data was collected online over a period of three weeks, and analyzed using SPSS and Smart-PLS software. The method chosen to support the correlational research design and test the hypotheses was Partial Least Squares (PLS) path modeling. The descriptive analysis of the responses to the JSS indicated that the vast majority of the sample exhibited better than the norm referenced level of job satisfaction in the employee population. The descriptive analysis of the responses to the GYS indicated that, in order of magnitude, the respondents endorsed Generation Y attributes the highest, followed by long-term employment attributes and short-term employment attributes the least.
