Sustainability of nonprofit organizations requires knowledge and technical capacity for fund raising to support organizational functions. While members of the Youth Clubs had committed their services to the community, the leaders needed help in building members' fundraising capability to support organizational viability. An action research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of fundraising development training in developing the Community Advisory Committees' (CACs) ability to secure operational funding for their club units in the Youth Clubs. Influenced by Rosen's nonprofit money growing theory, this action research focused on utilizing effective grassroots fundraising strategies and determining the impact of the fundraising development training upon rural Youth Clubs advisory committees' efforts to financially sustain their nonprofit organizations. Out of a sample of 24 CAC members, a total of 12 completed the training, with 5 of them completing the Fundraising Team Self-Evaluation Questionnaire. An analysis of the responses revealed that the fundraising development training contributed to knowledge acquisition and generated strategic plans for committee members who assumed fund raising responsibilities. Results of the qualitative inquiry showed that effective communication between the members and stakeholders changes the committee members' negative perceptions of their fund sourcing abilities. Future research may expand the scale and scope of the study, possibly by including more participants, extending duration, and focusing on financial results. The study results supported the advantage that development training provides in maintaining organizational feasibility.
