The purpose of this study was to examine perceived discrimination among indigenous and non-indigenous Mexican Americans living in the United States. This study adds to the existing body of knowledge by investigating discrimination within groups (i.e., Mexican-Americans) and in a unique population often overlooked, understudied or misclassified. Indigenous Mexican immigrants. Perceived discrimination as experienced in both Mexico and the United States was examined by looking at three ethnic groups of Mexican decent. These groups are: Indigenous Mexicans, Mestizo Mexicans and EuroMexicans. A total of 62 participants were recruited for the purposes of this study. Overall results indicated that self classified Indigenous Mexicans reported the highest perceptions of discrimination in both México and the United States.
