The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of cultural upbringing on individual levels of commitment within the workplace among Latino professionals, in addition to determining if acculturation status has an impact on the way an individual stays or strays from his or her original traditions and customs. This was accomplished through the use of a survey instrument that measured the correlation between cultural identities and individual levels of commitment, utilizing two of the five Hispanic cultural scripts of machismo and respeto.

The outcomes of the study suggested that no significant correlation existed between cultural identity and commitment, leading us to believe that the more an individual identifies with the Latino culture has no impact on his or her organizational commitment.
