520 $a The purpose of this thesis research is to find a way to build practical low-costemergency shelters which could stay erected for several months or even a year until people can establish permanent dwellings. The concept originates from an arch and membrane combined structure. Through the construction and shelter performance analysis of the prototype, a better solution to the emergency shelter prototype design maybe found. The study also includes providing a comparison of design criteria specification for all existing emergency shelter systems which can be found in the market or research field.
