In this modern age, many individuals in North America live with habitual stress as a result of the demands that exist in today's fast-paced society. The ability to maintain the crucial balance between physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the Self have become increasingly difficult. This lack of balance can lead to stress, illness, or the inability to cope at an optimal level.

Individuals spend the majority of their waking hours at work, and therefore, work is an ideal arena for teaching the skills needed for maintaining balance and wellness. The author of this study makes a case for incorporating transpersonal health promotion programs in corporate offices. Transpersonal health promotion programs are defined in this study as company programs that nourish an employee's body, mind, and spirit in order to enhance the individual's overall well-being. If corporations begin the process of incorporating transpersonal health promotion programs within the work environment, many positive outcomes, both at the individual level and at the organizational level, will likely occur.

Through the utilization of a web-based questionnaire survey, the researcher examined the extent of the existence of health promotion programs in organizations today and whether or not such programs were considered to be beneficial by employees.

The quantitative outcomes of the study indicated that there was not an adequate amount of transpersonal health promotion programs currently available within organizations yet there was a desire or need for such programs from an employee's perspective. The participant's qualitative outcomes showed that there was a greater need for organizational attributes such as visionary leadership, rewards and recognition, communication, respect, a feeling of community, compassion, and achieving a sense of value and meaning at work.
