Thesis (M.A.)--California State University, Fresno, 2004.
The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Anger Attacks Questionnaire (AAQ). The AAQ was designed to screen for problematic anger. Seventy-eight participants were recruited from an undergraduate introduction to psychology subject pool. The reliability of the AAQ was assessed using the test-retest method at a 2-week interval. The validity of the AAQ was assessed via score correlations with the Trait Anger Scale (TAS), and the Anger Episodes Reporting Instrument (AERI). The TAS was designed to screen for trait anger and the AERI was designed for individuals to report their anger episodes. Results indicated that the AAQ anger attack scores are reliable. There was a small, yet significant correlation between the AAQ and the TAS, indicating that the AAQ may be valid. Some of the correlations between the AAQ scores and the AERI scores were significant, yet others were insignificant.
