520 $a Chapter two established an overview of parables. The definition of parable, the types of parables, and the parables of the kingdom of God were the topics discussed.
520 $a Chapter three examined and analyzed interpretations and theories of the major scholars in parable studies. This chapter followed the "circle of interpretation" format. The circle turned in a pattern as follows: first came a question of the definition, then came the eschatological interpretation, then a focus on the origin of the parables, new approaches, and back to rethinking the definition of the parables. Adolf Julicher stood at the starting point, and Craig Blomberg waited at the ending point of the circle. The history of the interpretation of parables that started in the early twentieth century arrived at the starting point once again at the end of the twentieth century.
520 $a Chapter four examined the growth parables: the parable of the Sower; the parable of the Mustard Seed; the parable of the Leaven; the parable of the Seed Growing Secretly; and the parable of the Wheat and the Weeds. In this chapter, the features of the kingdom of God and selected eschatological aspects were discussed.
