School health was measured by the Organizational Health Inventory (OHI). This inventory addresses teachers' perceptions of the health of their organization. The OHI provides an overall score for health and subscores in the areas of: (a) institutional integrity, (b) principal influence, (c) consideration, (d) initiating structure, (e) resource support, (f) morale, and (g) academic emphasis. Trust in principal, colleagues and organization was measured by the use of the Faculty Trust Scales (FTS).

The population was comprised of 43 certified staff members at a junior high, grades seven and eight. The research design for this study was correlational in that it looked at the variables of health and trust. A Pearson Product-Moment correlation was used to determine significance for five hypotheses. Positive correlations were found in the area of trust in the principal and teachers' perceptions of the organizational health of their school, and in the area of trust in the organization and teachers' perceptions of the organizational health of their school. A third correlation was discovered when examining combined measures of trust and their relationship to teachers' perceptions of the health of their school. A fourth correlation was found in four of the seven subscales of the OHI when they were tested independently with the combined measures of trust.

It was recommended that further research be conducted to identify principal characteristics which bring about high levels of trust by the faculty. It was also recommended that programs be designed to help teachers better understand the operations of their organization.
