Movement education procedures may be used to facilitate and maintain the health of an individual and can foster the development of a more positive self-image. This study explored the use of movement as a therapeutic, facilitory agent based upon anatomical, physiological, and kinesiological principles and its relation to the health and well-being of an individual. The movement concepts of Rudolph Laban were presented, especially as applied to body awareness, alignment, centering, and muscle sequencing. Kinesthetic integration is defined as the movement of an organism in response to a stimulus such as movement, touch, perception, intent, and/or thought.Subjects--Topical Terms:

Posture, alignment, and balance are a daily demand which needs a better understanding and a more thorough attention. Individuals have become so out of connection with their body, the earth, and the universe that before the healing intent of the body can be awakened, a facilitory touch technique, such as acupressure, or another mind/body/spirit therapy may be needed to accelerate efficient realignment of the body with the mind, awakening the healing intent within which can be maintained via proper movement.
