Thesis (M.A.)--Prescott College, 1999.
Addictive gambling is increasing in the United States. Therapists have been struggling with the definition of addictive, compulsive, pathological and/or problem gambling. This paper gives a working definition for clinical application. This paper gives the person with problems of addictive gambling, their families and clinicians suggestions in the pursuit of recovery from this often-fatal problem. Consideration is given to the types of gamblers and the processes involved in action and escape gambling. Concrete recommendations are offered related to the assessment of the gambler.
