Thesis (Ph.D.)--Capella University, 2007.
This research determined if psychotherapists (N=86) viewed a trauma recovery model derived from the Book of Job as viable for religiously oriented clients with trauma histories. The question was, "What are the views of psychotherapists experienced in treating psychological trauma of a model for recovery from trauma derived from Job and incorporating a strong religious component?" The approach was a mixed methodology survey comprised of 25 Likert-type questions, including six brief comment questions. The participants were in favor of such a model and expressed some reservations about the interpretation the model was built on, the mixing of science and religion, and reported a need for more information before being confident in their responses.Subjects--Topical Terms:
