The purpose of this study was to develop and validate an in-service training curriculum to be used by selected Park Rangers within state government. The researcher had three sub-problems to resolve, (1) to identify those competencies that should be included in a Park Ranger in-service training curriculum, (2) to develop and validate the competencies that should be included in a Park Ranger in-service training curriculum. (3) Based on the fmdings in sub-problems 1 and 2, to develop and validate curriculum for Park Ranger in-service training.

Only the Park Ranger program within the State of Connecticut was incorporated into the study. The Park Ranger instructional training curriculum was developed for use only as an in-service training mechanism.

Only those competencies rated as essential by a majority of the jury were developed into training modules. The training modules were rated by the jury of experts as practical. The training program, as a whole, was also rated as practical.
