An automotive Event Data Recorder (EDR) is a device used to collect vehicle data related to a vehicle rollover, impact or evasive maneuver (known as an EVENT).{09}For accident investigators, knowing the positions of all vehicles before, during and after an EVENT will help in the reconstruction of an accident. This dissertation will propose, design and build a next generation EDR system with an Inertial Navigation System, (INS) for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) applications.
