Thesis (M.U.P.)--State University of New York at Buffalo, 2006.
Frederick Law Olmsted's design for Buffalo had a significant impact on the development of the City of Buffalo. The current planning for the City of Buffalo recognizes the value of the Olmsted Park System in the context of planning, both historically (through the interconnection of Olmsted, Ellicott and the waterfront) and in the future of the Queen City in the 21st Century. The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is in the process of producing a 20 Year Management and Restoration Plan to address the future of the Olmsted Park System.

It is intended as a "handbook" for historic park landscape planning as the issues addressed in the topic are applicable to historic landscapes across the country. The research will serve as a resource for park managers, planners, landscape designers, and communities with preservation issues in historic landscape. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)
