The second chapter provides an understanding of presidential leadership. First, a summary of leadership concepts and theories. Second, an introduction to Bolman and Deal's frames-based perspective on organizations and their leaders. Third, the community college as a type of institution and the history of Westchester Community College. Fourth, a section on the community college presidency and relevant areas of presidential activity and involvement. The fourth chapter presents the data elicited from the interviews and speeches that support this project's purpose of describing individual presidential leadership at one community college over a 29-year period of time, potentially establishing a relationship between Bolman and Deal's frames theory and the leadership style of this president. The study's central research question is engaged by five sub-questions, addressing Bolman and Deal's frame categories, dominant leadership frame, multi-frame use, and the evolution of cognitive leadership complexity over time. This chapter presents the data, focusing on statistical summaries, and, using illustrative quotations from interviews and documents, answers the individual operational research questions.

The fifth chapter presents a final summary and conclusions for the project. The first section answers the individual operational research questions by summarizing previously presented data. The next section interprets the findings in light of the main research question. Following sections provide a critique of the study, recommendations for further study, implications, and conclusions.
