Thesis (Ph.D.)--New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, 2006.
The purpose of the dissertation was to discover if selected teaming style an conflict response style theories were indeed grounded in Carl G. Jung's psychological type theory (specifically his law of complementary opposites), determine if a statistical relationship existed between individual teaming styles and conflict response styles of a subject group, and discover if such a relationship would provide predictability of one from the other. A literature review indicated that selected learning style and conflict response style theories were generally grounded in Jung's concepts of typology and his law of complementary opposites.

Lagoon Baptist Church, in Gulf Shores, Alabama has a congregation of 400 people. 200 individuals were identified as potential subjects from which 120 subjects were randomly chosen to participate in the study. Subjects were divided male (49%) and female (51%) with education levels of high school to graduate school, and ages eighteen to eighty-six. Two credible instruments were used to collect data: The Productivy Environmental Preference Survey (PEPS) by Gary E. Price was chosen for collecting learning style data; Rahim's Organizational Conflict Instrument (ROCI) by M. Afzalur Rahim was chosen for collecting conflict response style data.

Scatterplots, with and without outliers included, established the existence of a loose linear relationship between learning style responses and conflict style responses of the subjects. The Pearson r correlation test also supported the hypothesis that learning and conflict styles are related. However, the between-groups correlations did not reach the p = .05 (.2050) predictability level necessary to support the third hypothesis.
