Thesis (M.S.)--State University of New York Institute of Technology, 2006.
Theory and empirical findings support the hypotheses that individualized employment services are effective in promoting sustained employment and improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Participants in the Mohawk Valley Community College's Job Club Program were administered a voluntary survey which, first, inquired whether or not participation in the job club assisted them in obtaining sustained employment and, second, whether this employment improved the quality of their lives. The findings based upon survey results supported both hypotheses. However, the external validity of the findings was weak because the sample was very small. Directions for future research are discussed.
