Thesis (M.A.)--University of Southern California, 2005.
The Oslo Peace Process marked a key turning point in the relationship between Israel and its Arab neighbors, who have been embroiled in a century-long conflict over national identity and ideology. This thesis examines the role of public relations, crisis management and crisis communications in the Oslo Peace Process, and their impact on the failure of Israelis and Palestinians to transition from war to a sustainable, lasting peace. Analysis focuses specifically on the efforts of Labor-led governments under Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres between September 1993 and May 1996 to reach a viable peace with Israel's Arab neighbors.
