Now it is needed to evaluate such efforts for identifying whether those efforts could contribute to decreasing or solving youth violence issues.

The purpose of this study was to provide a descriptive overview of the current research on the adolescent violence prevention program, to evaluate those programs for identifying the factors leading to program success using meta-analysis, and finally to explore the effective strategies to develop the prevention program of adolescents' violence. For achieving these goals, five assumptions were tested: (a) the interventions developed based on theory will have more significant effect than the interventions that have no theoretical background, (b) the selective programs will have more effect than the universal prevention programs, (c) the program that applied multiple interventions will have more effect than the program that used only one method or channel, (d) the children (less than fourth grade) will show more successful results compared to older children, and (e) the program that was conducted by specialists will show more successful results compared to the program that was conducted by school teachers. Overall, all the assumptions were not supported significantly, and there was no significant effect regardless of each program type for reducing aggressive or violent behavior, except single approach program. Briefly, single approach programs, programs targeted more than fourth grade group and specialist program showed more effects than others in both meta-analysis and qualitative review, but only single approach programs had a significant effect.

In conclusion, the efforts to develop and conduct adolescent violence programs should be matched with rigorous evaluation efforts so the proper assessment and modification can be possible in the process for improving the quality of violence prevention programs for adolescents.
