This study investigated apparent similarities between the theories of William Glasser's Choice Theory/Quality Schools and John Dewey's ideas concerning education. The study proposes that these theorists' works are congruent enough to permit Dewey's beliefs to be implemented by Glasser's methods. The writings and historical analyses of both men are reviewed along with applications of Glasser's education techniques. School environments produced by incorporating Choice Theory/Quality School methods into educational systems are described to aid in the development of models for improving schools. Hence, Quality Schools could offer practical applications for the implementation of Glasser's and Dewey's educational theories.
