The first model is a two-dimensional model employing the conventional E* and T* approximations for an isogrid panel. The second model is a three-dimensional model using two-dimensional plate elements, without the conventional approximations. The third model is a Three-dimensional solid model of the isogrid panel, also without the approximations.

In each model an attempt was made to recover the same stress information. A comparison and discussion of differences from these analyses are presented.

The results showed the conventional isogrid approximations, E* and T*, did not match the results of the other models, with the plate and solid models correlating well. The stresses found using the solid model were below the stress corrosion criteria for 7050-T7451 aluminum plate.
