The objective of this project is to study all possible maximal discrete vertex transitive actions of affine buildings with dimension at least 3 over a local field of positive characteristic. We use Prasad's volume formula [P89] to get a necessary and sufficient condition for such an action to be vertex transitive. This condition can be easily used to show that the examples provided in [CS98] are vertex transitive. As an approach to characterize all such actions we show that k and l are rational function fields.
