00,000) families changed to being more open to diversity than their peers, (b) students of color become more open to diversity than white students, (c) students who participated in volunteer work became more open to diversity than those students who did not volunteer, and (d) students who majored in arts and humanities were more open to diversity than students from any other major area. Negative influences on openness to diversity were discovered in those students who majored in biology, business, computer science and engineering, and health fields when compared to those students who majored in arts and humanities.
