Thesis (D.B.A.)--University of Phoenix, 2008.
In the context of an aging workforce, loss of executives' strategic experience can substantially impact organization's ability to remain competitive. The purpose of this mixed methods Delphi study was to explore how organizations can retain critical strategic experience using scenario methods to facilitate organizational learning. Experts on scenario methods and knowledge-intensive German organizations employing 500 or more employees provided authoritative feedback during several rounds of data gathering. Findings emphasized six specific areas in the range of executives' strategic experience that can be retained within the design of future scenarios. Panelists identified various methods and procedures for successfully implementating strategic experience transference, and success factors for monitoring this organizational learning. These findings were used to create a leadership model for effectively leveraging executives' strategic experience.
