Addressing the impact of the Russian Revolution on diplomacy, and analyzing questions surrounding change and continuity in Russian and Soviet diplomacy in the transition from the Russian Empire to the Soviet Union, the book examines how Russia's diplomacy was conducted, the diplomats behind it, and the institutional cultures of the late Tsarist and early Soviet foreign ministries.
