This research began with hope to find new artistic interventions that would peak the interest of all the participants involved in group therapy. The participants, all adolescent males, attended a partial hospitalization program. Their different diagnoses and developmental levels made it difficult to find interventions that would reach all of their needs. Six group sessions were developed incorporating art therapy and phototherapy. The last session ended with each group member placing their artwork in a handmade album. While both individual and group goals were met, the most interesting aspect was that themes had emerged from the client's artwork. These themes reflected the clients and their internal issues. This allowed the client's to confront their issues by bringing them out externally through creating art and containing them in an artistic album.Subjects--Topical Terms:
