Some findings that arose from this study included: offering preceptor training to dietitians, allowing preceptors opportunity to be involved in the planning of the new practicum, and ensuring that updates on changes made to the current practicum occur regularly and in a timely fashion. Addressing these findings will help ensure dietitians' continued effectiveness working with interns, while maintaining a strong role in the IIP. The end result will be a positive reflection on the preceptors, interns, the internship programs, as well as the Dietetic profession.
