Bradshaw, Michelle L.
Evaluation of the effectiveness of a researcher designed fall prevention program.
- 127 p.
Adviser: Merlene Gingher.
Thesis (M.S.)--D'Youville College, 2006.
This exploratory quantitative study evaluated the effectiveness of a researcher-designed program to educate students, in health related majors, on fall risk factors interaction for community-dwelling elderly. A pretest and post-test were used to evaluate the contents of the program. A Likert-scaled program evaluation was used to evaluate the effectiveness of presentation of the program. Paired t-tests were used to compare the scores, of the pretests and post-tests. Frequencies of responses were used to score the program evaluation. Analysis of the data showed a statistically significant difference between pretest and post-tests to support the use of a program focused on fall risk factor interaction. The results of the program evaluation showed that students agreed the presentation was effective.
