The researcher developed a workbook that included various art therapy tasks that were significant for the treatment of depression. Four adult clients were studied during their duration at the facility for an average of 7-15 art therapy sessions.

The information gathered were the art tasks, art work images and the Beck Depression Inventory. Interviews were conducted with clients to discuss their depressive thoughts or emotions after the art therapy session. The clients' insight about their depressive symptoms and art therapy process was reported throughout the study.
