The following thesis documents a unique life review process utilizing art therapy with an eighty-one year old woman. Incorporated within this extended case-study are twelve art therapy assessments ranging vastly in terms of the elements that each assessment was designed to examine. This wide lens approach to art therapy assessment offered an interesting story that richly detailed characteristics pertaining to the subject's psychosocial history and context at given points in time. The eleven session life review was designed to reflect upon the individual and personal story of one woman in order to promote ego-integrity through the resolution of remaining conflicts from the past. This study reflects an emerging perspective on what aging can mean. It details the story of one high-functioning, reflective person's creative aging and demonstrates the potential for healing and resolution through art that can exist in late-adulthood.Subjects--Topical Terms:
