Background. Patients with Stage III non-small cell lung cancer represent a major problem in terms of selection of optimal treatment, as traditional treatment options consisting of radiation or surgery, have not had a major impact on survival of these patients (23, 26). However, within the last few years' evidence from clinical trials has demonstrated a survival benefit from combined modality therapy (CMT---chemotherapy, combined with high-dose radiotherapy), for Stage III NSCLC patients (27, 63, 69).

Purpose. The proposed study is part of the clinical audit pathway that examines the effectiveness of CMT treatment now offered to Stage III NSCLC patients at KRCC. Survival outcomes of the KRCC treatment policy change are measured by patients' median and long-term survival, with a comparison to historical controls.
