This study revealed that Latino older adult women engaged in walking for leisure with less frequency than older men. This study also showed that Latino older adults who lived in an unsafe neighborhood were less likely to walk for leisure, but more likely to walk for transportation than those that lived in safe neighborhoods. Another finding of this study was that Latino older adults with chronic conditions are less likely to participate in walking than persons without these conditions.
