Unbeknownst to many Christians, Jesus is an Islamic prophet---just like Abraham, and Mohammed. Muslims have a large number of scriptural references which present their particular perspective on Jesus---his birth, life, death, and message. Muslims also have a historical narrative of the interval from Jesus to the rise of Islam---a narrative that begins with an Islamic prophet calling people to submit to God but whose message is ultimately corrupted and perverted into heretical doctrines.

520 $a With reference to both Muslim and Christian sources, this paper explains the Islamic perspective on Jesus, and presents the Islamic version of history that reconciles the Islamic understanding of Jesus, with the fact that the Christian followers of Jesus have such a different Christology. Furthermore this paper examines the evidence used by Muslim apologists, and presents a critique of this evidence. The paper concludes with recommendations for Islamic apologists when engaging with Christians.
