- 84 p.
Adviser: Julie O'Donnell.
Thesis (M.S.W.)--California State University, Long Beach, 2007.
The purpose of this project was to design a school-based mental health promotion program, to identify potential funding sources, and to complete a grant application to fund a program for 2 elementary schools in an urban school district in Southern California. The proposed program incorporates multifaceted, evidence-based approaches to promoting children's mental health through universal support and early intervention among those with mental health challenges. The program aimed to create interventions that improved child social skills, teacher's knowledge of early identification and intervention, and parents' interaction with child and the school. Actual submission and/or funding of the grant was not required for the successful completion of this project.
