Organ transplantation is the only method used to replace damaged organs due to disease and trauma. In Western New York, the primary transplanted organ is the kidney. Western New York has a high population of African American. The African American population mainly consists of blood group B and blood group O. Due to the high incidence of high blood pressure and diabetes among the African American; many went down with kidney failure and required organ transplantation. However, most organ donor is of Caucasian heritage and mainly consists of blood group O and blood group A. The waiting list for compatible organs can be as long as a few years. Therefore, incompatible organ transplantation has to be done in order to save patients in the list.

520 $a Japan had successfully transplanted mismatch organ into kidney failure patient for almost 10 years now without graph rejection [14]. It is speculated that A2 cells will be the best candidate for mismatch organ transplantation if the antibody titer is brought below 8. However, existing tube test method for detecting antibody titer is too time consuming and prone to human error. A more precise and time saving procedure has to be developed in conjunction with the existing HLA flow cytometric crossmatch method. A cutoff point can then be drawn to assist in organ transplantation across ABO blood group barrier.
