Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) networks have emerged as a promising candidate for next-generation networks to provide abundant bandwidth. Multicast is a means of one-to-many communication which demands simultaneous transmission from a source to a set of receivers. With the introduction of applications demanding various measurements of Quality of Service (QoS), the multicast problem becomes more challenging in terms of end-to-end delay, delay jitter, and loss. Supporting QoS multicast in WDM networks is an important research issue toward providing multicast service in IP over WDM Networks. In this dissertation, I study different models to achieve QoS-assuring multicast in WDM networks under different resource constraints.Subjects--Topical Terms:
