PART I: PARADOXES IN TALKING ABOUT MEANING -- PART II: THEORIES OF LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION --PART III: INTERPRETATION AND DEFINITION ASHISTORICALLY DEVELOPED CONCEPTS -- PART IV: LOGICAL DEFINITION, THE LANGUAGE OF CONTROL, AND RHETORICAL CRITICISM.
Since we need words with new meanings to discover what is true, it follows that without thosewords there could be no truth as we know it. Without just those words that we create there would beno knowledge forus. In that case knowledge is found embedded in the very words that weformulate. Interpretation and definition as rhetorical and logical modes are interactive in determining and pércising meaning that transcendsour repertoire of literal usage. "Language use" by abandoning old trailsof usage and by refining usage gives us the opportunity and freedom to explore and discover what never has been thought about, used, or expressed before.
