The primary purpose of this study was to determine the reasons working professionals from non-education backgrounds voluntarily chose to enter into K-12 public education. Additionally, investigating whether the 6 participants exhibited similar personality traits was identified through the 93-question MBTI Form M Self-Scorable instrument. The alternatively certified participants indicated reasons for transitioning into education, which varied from altruism to more family time. Some of the participants entertained thoughts of administration in the future; however, the common thread was that each participant enjoyed teaching and felt they would teach for some time.
