This study develops a pedagogical model of spiraling that explains and discusses how teachers and students can be actively engaged in the teaching/learning process of dance in order to accomplish the contemporary educational goals of Korean higher education.

The model, based on the physical characteristics of doing spiraling movement, provides a metaphor for future dance pedagogy. Chapter Five describes how the teacher's impulses initiate spiral learning in students. Chapter Six explains a pedagogy of spiraling wherein the multiple processes of engagement in teaching/learning dance result in a dynamic energy that flows from the processes of engagement.
