Wiklanski, David.
Understanding suicide terrorism from a cultural and memetic perspective.
- 68 p.
Advisers: Jon Springer; Henry Kaplowitz.
Thesis (M.A.)--Kean University, 2007.
The problem of Suicide Terrorism is not a new phenomenon. In fact, the routes of Suicide Terrorism can be traced back to the days of the Knights Templar. The most recent connection to Suicide Terrorism was the advent of the Suicide Bomber, seen quite extensively throughout Sri Lanka, and currently in most of the world hot spots. What causes an individual to strap explosives to their chests and become a human bomb? There are several reasons for this. They include the total fertility rate and how that affects population density, how inclusive fitness and parental investment affect the population, and the so called Terrorist Meme, or the effect of memes and memetics on society.
